Eye Bag Removal (Blepharoplasty) Surgery
Nothing ages a face more than the eyes.
As we get older, it is common to develop lower eye bags and hooding of the upper eyelid which can make us look tired and older,
adding years to the whole face.
Eye bag removal procedure can effectively address this problem where loose skin, surplus fatty tissue and
relaxed muscle in the eyelids are removed to tighten the skin.
The eye bag removal procedure will make the eyes look younger by smoothing and firming up the lids,
reducing the hooded appearance and removing under-eye pouches.
The procedure for eye bag removal surgery
The eye bag removal procedure for Hungarian patient is often carried out as a day case procedure.
The upper and lower lids can be operated on either together or separately.
The procedure usually takes between 1 to 3 hours to complete.
For foreign people it is advised to stay in Hungary for the primery healing period 8-10 days after surgery.
Upper Eyelid Surgery
When the upper eyelid surgery is performed without lower blepharoplasty, a local anaesthetic may be all that is required.
Upper eyelid surgery can be performed under sedation - we will advise you further as to the procedure most suitable for you.
The upper eyelid incision is made in the natural crease line that occurs 1 cm above the eyelashes.
The incisions might extend into the crow's feet or laughter lines at the outer corners of your eyes.
Working through the incisions we will separate the skin from the subcutaneous layers and remove excess fat and
trim the sagging muscle and skin.
The incisions will then be closed with very fine sutures.
Lower Eyelid Surgery
Lower eyelid surgery is usually performed under general anaesthetic. The incision usually starts at the outer margin of the eyelashes.
Working through the incisions we will separate the skin from the subcutaneous layers and remove excess fat and
trim the sagging muscle and skin.
The skin is then lifted upwards and outwards, gently tensioning the area and the overlapping skin is removed.
Again the incisions will then be closed with very fine sutures.
Recovery from eye bag removal
There will be some bruising and swelling during the recovery period.
There will be also some pink scarring along the inner margin of the lower lash and socket line to the upper lid which will normally fade quickly to leave faint white lines. Stitches are normally removed 5 to 7 days after surgery and most people return to work 8-10 days after their procedure.
How long to stay in Hungary?
It is recommended to stay in Hungary as long as the stiches are not removed, minimally 5-7 days after the operation.
The best to stay in Hungary 8-14 days. After the 7 days primery healing we can organize interesting tourist programs around Szeged.
